Neat Little Wreckage

I was also given this: my little half-sister’s art report card (she’s in one of those super supportive schools with no grades but she’s nine and in the blue class which means grade 4).  This is sickeningly cute and includes a weirdly self-deprecating note from my dad.
In our art lessons this year, we have been studying famous artists and then applying their styles to our own pieces. The year began with students studying Edvard Munch and “The Scream”, which was followed by Picasso and the completion of “Fractured Friends” abstract pieces. Finally we studied Rene Magritte. Abbey is very passionate about art. It is clear she looks up to her big sister and her artistic talents, and that she strives to be an artist like her. Abbey seems to enjoy abstract projects the most. Her ability to take a risk with her work always results in the production of very interesting creative pieces. At times it appears that Abbey doubts her artistic talents and she can become a bit silly with her work. I look forward to Abbey finding her own style and to have her confidence grow in this area; she is a fantastic artist.
